February Vacation

Hi everyone, what’s going on? It’s been a while since I have updated the blog and I have made a few updates for all our friends and family back in the states (and our UK audience out there).

Sarah and I took a week vacation/holiday the week before last. It reminded me a lot of a school vacation. We stayed local, we got to relax and we got to sleep in. Along with relaxing we also took day trips into London to see some things we still hadn’t seen yet. Which has to say something, we have been here over a year and still haven’t seen everything.

We got to see Windsor Castle, Tower of London, Tower Bridge (what most people think is London Bridge), London Design Museum, Westminster Abbey, and we went to Portobello Market. All very cool places. We also stayed up to watch the Super Bowl at a Super Bowl party (it ended at 3 am because of the time difference and didn’t have any of the American commercials). It was a definite improvement from last year's Super Bowl when we tried to watch it in Paris (watching the Super Bowl in French just isn’t the same). We also saw the latest Rocky movie which I happened to like.

The following pictures are from Windsor and Windsor Castle. We met up with a British friend of ours, Lyndsey, and saw the sites. We walked around the old stone walk ways and around the different parts of the castle. Afterward we went into the town outside the castle and ate at some French restaurant. The little town outside of the castle had a bunch of quaint shoppes, a Burger king, a Ben & Jerry’s, and a Starbucks. That’s where I envision the queen would go and get a café latte if she were to ever get bored with just drinking tea. Speaking of the Queen, although she was in that day, sadly enough, we didn’t get to see her.
