There was this falcon sitting in a door inside the castle. Parked nearby was a van with a sign on it marked "Natures Way Pest Control". I think this bird was keeping the pigeons away from messing up the nice castle walls.

Yes this is a valid viewpoint. Pigeons and birds of prey don't have "Happy Meals " together.
If anyone is having pigeon problems, those plastic owls work very well. Kind of hang them where they look natural, and where they can "observe" the pigeons. The pigeons get very nervous and will not hang around for long.

So using birds to get rid of other birds, so as to not mess up the walls... excellent logic, until the birds of prey have to do their business as well
