Christmas 2007 in America: Sarah's side of the story
Hi, everyone! We just got back from our Christmas trip to visit family and friends in America, and I gotta tell ya, it was quite the adventure. Seeing family and friends was terrific, and I'm missing family right now. (Incidentally, it's 10:30pm and Corey's making cookies...I would say we have a bit of jet lag! So sorry if this blog entry rambles a bit or doesn't make sense in places.) But, it was an adventure. First of all, my prayers for snow were answered, as there was a really big snow storm on the day we landed in Boston, and our normal 1 hour drive back to our parents took us SIX. It was amazing. Then another storm hit a few days later. It was really beautiful, though, and I love snow and was happy to have it since we don't see snow in London. Then...Corey got a cold. Then I caught his cold. That was a fun week. Then...Corey got sicker than I've ever seen him in his life with a stomach bug for Christmas and benevolently shared a milder version with me. Another fun couple of days. (Many thanks to both sets of parents who so kindly took care of us for both illnesses.) That brings us to the end of the trip.
In between sickenesses and snow, however, we managed to squeeze in time with family and a few friends and some shopping. And Christmas with family was so nice this year. (Mmmm...that cookie was good!)
So take a peak at our photos, and thanks to everyone we got to see and to our parents who let us live with them for a few weeks. We love you guys so much! But we may visit in the summer next time, when nobody's sick and our Anglicized immune systems won't take a beating ;-)!
Love, Sarah (and Corey)
PS...Corey should be posting his side of the story soon, so be on the look out!
